Manna Cafe’s Pirate Fest Chili Cook Off – 4pm free admission $3 per person for unlimited chili tasting

Come out to Strawberry Alley to support Manna Cafe and enjoy the festivities Matey! This event will have a pirate costume contest with awards, live bands including Mike Robinson, Syd Hedrick and the Falcons, Gypsy ( a Fleetwood Mac tribute band), and Mother Earth (Santana inspired music). Be sure to purchase your chili tasting ticket to sample all of the delicious types of homemade chili and vote for the winner! All proceeds go to feeding Clarksville’s hungry.

planeFree Airplane Rides at Young Eagles Flight Rally – ages 7-17 at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport 300 Memorial Field Drive Registration 9am, flights from 10am-3pm

This free event for youth ages 7-17 allows kids to experience what a real pilot does on the ground, then is taken up in the airplane for a short flight from a certified pilot while accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Registration begins at 9am and is limited to the first 150 participants so be sure to get there early!

showimage.aspxSpooky Spectacular- – The Spooky Spectacular will take place at The Kleeman Community Center at 166 Cunningham Lane from 3-7pm. Tickets are $5 per person. This is an all ages event with inflatables for the kids, a floating pumpkin patch, DJ, and all sorts of vendors with games and prizes to win. If you enjoyed this event last year, you’ll surely be impressed this year.

Haunted Maze and Swim – This event will take place right next door from the Spooky Spectacular in the Indoor Aquatic Center at 166 Cunningham Lane from 7-10pm. This event is geared more towards teens and adults due to the frightening nature of the event. Tickets are $4 per person and includes admission to the Haunted Maze and  the Haunted Swim.

Be sure to bring your swim suits to enjoy this unique event that you’ll not want to miss! Don’t worry about the cold, this event will take place in the indoor pool at the aquatic center.

sunset-rotary1940-hollywood-variety-2-898x1024 1940’s Hollywood Variety Show Dinner and Auction – ticket are $75 per person or $500 for a table of 8. This event will be put on by the Clarksville Sunset Rotary Club to benefit the Clarksville Police Department Youth Coalition Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, and a scholarship for the APSU music department.

Come dressed in your favorite 40’s era garb and enjoy the amazing lineup of entertainment for the evening taking place in the brand new venue inside Miss Lucille’s Marketplace at 2231 Madison Street in Clarksville.

riverfest  RiverFest – Come down to McGregor Park for Clarksville’s 2 day annual music and arts festival along the banks of the Cumberland River!

This is an all ages free event, however tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase of food, beverages, and inflatables.

Festivities will include multiple live entertainment stages, food, beverages, activities for kids of all ages, the Riverfest Regatta, Lighted Boat Parade, Recycled Fashion Show, and  more.

Jazz On the Lawn – Bring the whole family to Beachaven Winery this Saturday for live music at Jazz on the Lawn featuring Tina Brown from 6:30-9:30pm. Sit back under the stars and sweeping trees sipping Beachaven’s finest wines in the vineyard and enjoy the company of friends or dance the summer night away. Lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and snacks are welcome but please leave all pets and outside alcoholic beverages at home.

bike  Clarksville Sunrise Century Bike Tour (Labor Day Classic) – Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting its annual fundraiser with this 100 ,62, or 33 miles bike ride.

Each tour begins at Rossview High School (1237 Rossview Rd, Clarksville) with the 100 mi ride beginning at 6:45am for the Elite 100 and the Century at 7am, the 62 mi ride beginning at 8am, and the 33 mi ride beginning at 7 am.

Registration is required for this event. Here is a link to purchase tickets for your tour.

thomasDay Out with Thomas: – Kids of all ages will love this event! Taking place at the TN Central Railway Museum in Nashville, TN (220 Willow St), this event will feature a 25 min train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, meet and greet with Sir Topham Hatt (the controller of the railway), and a stop at the Imagination Station.

Kids will enjoy tons of hands-on arts and crafts activities , temporary tattoos, stamps, storytelling and more!

Tickets can be purchased here for $14-$20 and it is asked that you and your family arrive 1hr before your scheduled train departure time.

GwtWMovies in the Park – This week’s feature film will be the 1939 classic, Gone with the Wind which will begin at dusk at Liberty Park. Come early (aprox 6pm) for the Move before the Movie event!

Rotc  Rally On The Cumberland – Come down to Liberty Park and cheer on participants in the Canoe and Kayak Races followed by an Outdoor Expo this Saturday.

Part of the 2013 Eagle Challenge Fitness Club, the heats for ages 13+ will begin at 7am at the Conservation Club and should end at 10:30 am at Freedom Point in Liberty Park.

Following the races, the Outdoor Expo begins at 10:30am at Liberty Park Marina and will feature awards for the Canoe and Kayak race winners, a DJ and live band, as well as food and outdoor vendors. Adults can also participate in live demos for Canoes, Kayaks, and Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) while kids between the ages of 8-12 can join in the Paddle boat races at 1pm.

  • Downtown Market – Peruse tons of local vendors selling everything from fresh produce, arts & crafts, jewelery, baked goods, and more from 8am-1pm at 1 Public Square in downtown Clarksville dwntwn mrkt
  • Clarksville Dodges’ Pizza Party – 11:30am-1:30pm Q108 will be in attendance playing music to go along with all of the free samples of pizza provided by Dodges to celebrate its addition to the menu. There will also be face painting for the kids as well as free sodas, chips, a prize wheel, a drawing for a 26″ flat screen tv, and much more. Join the party at 1504 Ft. Campbell Blvd, Clarksville
  • Clarksville Sports Festival– 10am-3pm at the Wilma Rudolph Events center to view demonstrations and participate in various athletic activities. This free festival is designed to celebrate and explore some sports uncommonly seen in the area such as Rugby and Parkour. Taking place at 1190 Cumberland Dr. Clarksville
  • Movies in the Park – 6-10pm the film this week is Les Miserable PG-13 which begins at Dusk in Liberty Park. Don’t forget to bring your own yoga mat if you’d like to participate in this weeks “Move before the Movie” which features a 45 min yoga class! 1188 Cumberland Dr. Clarksville

  • Oak Grove, KY Bridal Expo: An Afternoon of Dreams, Rings, and Wedding Things – 1-5pm at the Valor Hall Conference and Event Center at 105 Walter Garret Ln. Oak Grove KY will feature local vendors from all over the Southern Ky and Northern Middle TN areas offering information, samples, games, and prizes. Oh and did I mention that the 1st 75 brides through the door will win a free Tee? tickets are $7 at the door or $5 when you take a tour of Valor hall in advance.
